Webster, KY — William "Bill" Braxton Garris, Jr. age 78, of Webster, KY passed away on July 23, 2021 in Corydon, IN.
He was born on June 24, 1943 in Elizabeth City, N.C., son of the late William Braxton Garris, Sr. and Virginia Dare Pierce Garris. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia "Ginny" Garris.
Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran, attended Guston Baptist Church, was a self-employed C.A.T.V. Contractor, and loved fishing and boating.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Anna Jeanette Garris; children, William Braxton Garris, III of Wilson, NC, Virginia Garris Kreiner (Chris) of Winston-Salem, NC, Stacie Cain (Timothy) of Irvington, KY, Ronald Pipes (Jennifer) of Louisville, KY, Susan Bailey (Craig) of Youngsville, NC., Stephanie O'Connor (Tim) of Whiting, NJ., and Lisa Allen (Alan) of Lucama, NC.; sisters, Martha Rouse of Trenton, NC and Kathy Phelps (Ken) of Roseville, MI.; 24 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Thomas-Yelverton Home, 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC, where the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, NC.
