“Big Brother is watching you!” 

Now more than ever, the ominous phrase from the dystopian classic “1984” seems true to life. Recently, the formation of a Disinformation Governance Board has left many on the left and right wondering at the intentions of our current administration. What seems like an effort to threaten free speech is veiled as a government agency to keep America safe. 

“Who are they keeping us safe from?” I’d like to ask.

Ourselves.

It seems to me like the greatest threat we face is a hostile federal government that overlooks leaked information when it is beneficial to its members. Furthermore, we have witnessed sitting members of Congress encourage such outrageous behavior and endorse extreme protests against our Supreme Court justices. 

What is most perplexing about all of this is that these communistic members of the House and Senate cry against the perceived threats to democracy yet speak irresponsibly, behave erratically and resemble immature middle school bullies more then they resemble statesmen and stateswomen who are investing in the future of our country. 

We are at a time in our nation when the average American has good reason to no longer trust our political process or our elected officials. Therefore, I cannot fathom why any person of reasonable maturity or intelligence would advocate to expand the Supreme Court because the justices delivered a decision they did not agree with. Where do these Lenin, Stalin or Hitler-like tactics end?

I say they end now. 

Now more then ever, it is critical that you get out and vote. Please make your voice heard: send these career politicians home and elect people to office who will work for the good of our country and not the good of their pockets or party.
