Itha Martin Best

Posted on June 23, 2022

Itha "Ike" Martin Best, 70, of Jamestown, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Sharron McIntosh Best for 41 years.

Born on December 8, 1951 in Dunn, he was the son of the late Braxton and Grace Best. Ike worked for Blue Bell and then VF Corporation. He was a man of many things- clever, cheated on board games, loved crossword puzzles and his dogs, and never declined to explore unknown country roads. Ike also loved British TV and would challenge others either by questioning them or making them really think about their thoughts but he was never afraid to take the other side. Ike was a friend who was very intelligent, would listen to others as well as offer unique opinions and advice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Brooks Best and sister-in-law, Jackie Harris and Raymond Harris.

Ike is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Sharron Best; daughter, Amanda Best and husband Scott Hiland of Bedford, VA; sisters-in-law, Vickie McIntosh and Erin McIntosh Formo and husband Brian; and two nieces, Sara Williford and husband Shane and their son Dylan and Laura Harris Clark and husband Craig and their children, Jackson and Alexis.

There will be a period of visitation on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.

Fond memories and condolences may be left for the Best family at
