Geraldine Strickland Long, 76, of Wilson, passed away Thursday. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Tommy Hagen officiated.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home of her daughter, Carol Long.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Carol Long and partner, Edward Ray Price, of Lucama; son, Johnny R. Long Jr. of Wilson; grandchildren, Brittany Luna and husband, Ray, Amber Merced and husband, Luis, and Christopher Long; great-grandchildren, Ray Luna Jr., Hailey Luna, Stetson Luna and Naomi Merced; sisters, Jeanette Garris and Ruby Lucas; and her brother, Kenneth Strickland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Long Sr.; granddaughter, Charlotte Tramell; parents, Worth and Elsie Taylor Strickland; and her brothers, George Strickland, James Strickland and Dwight Strickland.
