James Anderson married Brie Handgraaf on Sept. 25 at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh.

Brie Anne Handgraaf and James Walker Anderson of Wilson were married Sept. 25 in a 3 p.m. ceremony at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh.

Rhyan Breen of Wilson officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Vicki Handgraaf of Overland Park, Kansas, and Darrel and Suzy Handgraaf of Greensboro. Her grandparents are Laura and Cliff Gillett in Crossville, Tennessee, and the late Herman and Helen Handgraaf of Greensboro. She is a graduate of Lutheran High School in Independence, Missouri, and Kansas State University, where she graduated with a degree in mass communications. She is a staff writer at The Wilson Times.

The groom is the son of Becky Anderson in Rocky Mount and the late Bob Anderson and the grandson of the late Linus and Anna Walker and Paul and Susan Anderson. He attended Rocky Mount High School and graduated from N.C. Wesleyan College with a degree in computer and information sciences. He is employed as an information system technician at N.C. Wesleyan College.

The bride was escorted by her father.

To complement her classic V-neck ballgown, the bride wore handcrafted, custom jewelry by Simply Adorned 79 artist Amanda Duncan of The Selkie. Her engagement ring was crafted by Vaughan’s Jewelers with a family heirloom diamond.

Her bouquet of white lilies, galaxy orchids and handcrafted roses made from The Wilson Times front pages was created by Avenue Gardens Florist.

Her bridesmaids were Kellianne Davis and Genna Miller of Wilson. Sophia Miller of Wilson was the flower girl. They also wore jewelry handcrafted by Simply Adorned 79.

Allen Meszaros of Castalia and Steve Ranke of Rocky Mount were groomsmen. Ushers were James Linz and Corey Leggett.

Wedding music was presented by Craig Anderson, brother of the groom.

A reception at Marbles Kids Museum followed the ceremony and was hosted by the bride’s parents. The meal was catered by The Blind Pig Supper Club. Brewmasters Mobile provided the champagne, beer, wine and cocktails.

The couple’s wedding cake, made by Treat Yo’ Self, was a cinnamon almond, ombre purple pound cake.

On the eve of the wedding, the bride’s mother gave a rehearsal dinner at Seasons 52 in Raleigh.

Beauty Marks & Co. did hair and makeup for the wedding party and the wedding couple’s mothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Anderson have returned from a honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii, and are living in Wilson.
