Wilson police have arrested two men in a Nov. 22 armed robbery and car theft.

Alexander Lewis Mobley Jr., 25, of Wilson, is charged with robbery with a firearm or dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Mobley was arrested Jan. 7 and remains in the Wilson County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond.

Police identified 24-year-old Keedron Jamell Kearney of Wilson as the second suspect. He was arrested Tuesday on charges of robbery with a firearm or dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle. Kearney was jailed under a $300,000 secured bond.

Officers were called to a reported car theft on the 1200 block of Pender Street West at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 22, Wilson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Eric Kearney said in a news release.

The victim, 23-year-old Ali Ahmed Osaish of Durham, was delivering cigarettes to the Habib Mini Mart when two men approached him outside his vehicle, Kearney said. One of the men drew a handgun and demanded money. The robbers got in Osaish’s vehicle and left.

Police found the car about four blocks away on the 1100 block of Elizabeth Road. Osaish’s cellphone and an unknown amount of cigarettes were stolen, Sgt. Kearney said. Osaish was unhurt.

JANUARY ROBBERY

Mobley is also a suspect in a Jan. 2 robbery in the Sunny Food Mart parking lot at 600 Ward Blvd. Police say the convenience store wasn’t involved in the holdup and identified the victim as 51-year-old Parkash Jayantilal Patel of Wilson.

Patel was in the parking lot when two men approached him. One pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the scene.

Detectives charged Mobley with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

That case is still under investigation.
