Spring Expo is back
Posted on May 6, 2021
The Wilson Chamber of Commerce will host its Wilson Spring Expo presented by Greenlight Community Broadband on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wilson County Fairgrounds. The Expo marks a return to its familiar format, showcasing various types of businesses and services available in the Wilson area.
“After modifying the event considerably last fall, I’m excited that we once again get to host the Spring Expo in a more traditional way, as I know it has become one of the more highly-anticipated business expos of its kind in our region, said Ryan Simons, president of the Wilson Chamber of Commerce.
“Of course, our ability to promote businesses and connect them with prospective customers is a secondary priority to the health and safety of everyone involved. We fully expect to have to make certain design changes that respect public health guidance, but it will be done in a way that is not intrusive on the overall event experience.”
Wilson Spring Expo will include more than 100 vendors demonstrating products and services. Vendors will be spread throughout the fairgrounds, and the event will also include a beer garden, live entertainment and food trucks.
Simons said the Wilson Spring Expo is a sign that the community is beginning to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Clearly, we’re not totally out of the woods yet with this virus, although we are certainly trending in an encouraging direction. This past year has been difficult for us all and has been especially challenging on businesses for which this has been both a health and economic crisis. Many are excited to have the opportunity to reintroduce themselves to our community, and I’m thrilled we get to provide them a venue at the Wilson Spring Expo.”
A few Expo booths are available when reserved in advance, and several smaller “tabletop” display options remain.
