Wilson Arts will be offering a guided painting workshop at the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park. The workshop is Saturday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Artist and instructor Kim Valentine will lead “Painting in the Park,” where participants can learn a new art form, enhance existing skills or just have a couple of hours with friends being creative.

Valentine will guide participants step-by-step through the process of creating a whirligig painting. No experience is necessary.

Class size is limited. To register and pay, visit the Wilson Arts website at http://www.wilsonarts.com/art-classes/ or call Wilson Arts at 252- 291-4329. You can also register by stopping by the new Wilson Arts Center, 204 Nash St. S., during regular business hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday).

Rain location is Wilson Arts Center.
