It’s going to be a Holly Jolly July. Mr. & Mrs. Claus are on summer vacation in North Carolina and plan to visit Historic Downtown Wilson on Saturday, July 24.

Businesses are preparing for their arrival and have fun activities, shopping discounts and food for all to enjoy. Beginning at 8 a.m. at the Wilson Farmers & Artisan Market, Holly Jolly July event goers can enjoy the spirit of Christmas. Armed with a special Holly Jolly Passport (available at the Historic Downtown Wilson/market manager’s tent and Whirligig Museum & Gift Shop) participants can collect stamps at participating locations to be entered into a drawing for a gift basket.

Cool off in the air-conditioned comfort of the Boykin Theater with an afternoon showing of “The Polar Express.” Take a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Wilson Police Department for entry to the movie. Mini holiday music concerts will be performed at the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park Museum & Gift Shop.

Smile for the camera with a professional portrait of you and your family with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Eyes on Main Street Gallery for a $20 donation.

This event is being organized by Historic Downtown Wilson business owners, partnered with Wilson Downtown Development and sponsors.
