SELMA — The town’s sixth annual Polar Bear Run is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15.

The 5K run and walk will begin at the corner of Webb and Waddell streets.

The Polar Bear Run is unique in that particpants can run — or walk — with their pet, be it a dog, cat or goldfish.

Prizes will go to the top male and female runners and to the first pet to cross the finish line.

The cost is $10 per runner. Pets are free.

To register in advance, which is required, go to selma-nc.com/departments/parks-rec/polar-bear-run/.
