Local dancer plays role in ‘Nutcracker’

Anna Carr Benton danced in the N.C. Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" for the third year.

Anna Carr Benton just finished her third year dancing with the N.C. Ballet in its production of “The Nutcracker.” She has played a Truffle, Mouse and Arabian, and this year she was a Soldier. 

Anna Carr, who is 12, has performed on stage at Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill, Durham Performing Arts Center and Raleigh Memorial Auditorium over the last three years. 

She has been dancing for 10 years, nine years with Barrett Hildebrand at Brand Performing Arts Center in Wilson. She is in sixth grade at Norwayne Middle School in Fremont. 

Her parents are Gary and Anne Benton of Fremont. Grandparents are Carl and Peggy Benton of Fremont and Charles and Barbara Robl of Wilson.
