Hear Gene Watson in Wilson Sept. 3 at the Boykin Center.
Country music singer Gene Watson will be in the house at Wilson’s Boykin Center Friday, Sept. 3, for a 7:30 p.m. show.
Watson has been dubbed “The Singer’s Singer.” His powerful voice and multi-octave range allow him to sing some of the most challenging songs with an ease that comes from pure, natural talent as well as from his many years performing onstage.
On his most recent album release, Real.Country.Music, the 72 year- old Watson proves he’s still the master of classic country music. Watson remains defiantly country and is proud that his legions of fans rely on him to keep traditional country music alive and well. He is most famous for his 1975 hit “Love in the Hot Afternoon,” his 1981 No. 1 hit “Fourteen Carat Mind,” and his signature 1979 song “Farewell Party.”
Watson’s long career has notched five No. 1 hits, 23 Top 10, and more than 76 charted singles.
Tickets are $42 for adult and $37 for seniors and students. Visit WilsonArts.com to purchase online or call 252-291-4329 for more information.
