The June exhibit at the Eyes on Main Street Gallery will feature three artists. Lynnette Pair and Kim Valentine will share one space with “Spiritual Awakening.” Juan Carlos Duron-Martinez will be featured in the second space.
The opening reception is at 6 p.m. June 10.
The Eyes on Main Street Gallery is located at 126-128 Goldsboro St. The gallery is open noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
THE ARTISTS
Valentine likes to experiment with new ideas and techniques and re-purpose items in her art.
“Lately I’ve been exploring mixed media painting,” she said. “Layers of alcohol inks, paper, splattered and stenciled paints and an acrylic under painting topped with oils. So many layers to examine.”
Pair, who lives in Wendell, paints on all types of surfaces, including canvas, furniture and glass. She also teaches art classes and offers workshops and art camps.
Martinez said his show, “Fragmented Photography,” is a collection of memories depicting time, place and person — “a recollection of the past that narrates the author’s experience as he navigates through life.”
The show is a collection of Polaroid images he has taken in the last five months.
