WARRENTON — Vance-Granville Community College will offer a new sustainable agri-tech program next month.

The class will prepare students for occupations in a wide variety of jobs in agriculture (both production and value-added), the school says. The program addresses agricultural concepts, skills, and techniques that are required by the agriculture industry.

Upon completion, students will have explored sustainable and organic methods, plant, soil and animal science, field management, equipment maintenance and basic computer skills and marketing techniques.

Class begins 6 p.m. on Feb. 22. It will be a hybrid program led by Kelly Dixon with 30 classroom hours and 66 online hours.

The cost is $188; tuition assistance is available.
