LOUISBURG — A woman accused of distributing meth was arrested Tuesday, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Angela Wilson Collier, 52, was arrested after the sheriff’s office received information she was distributing methamphetamines in Wilders Corner community, officials said.

Narcotics detectives opened an investigation and arrested Collier on felony drug charges as a result. Detectives also seized methamphetamines and various controlled pills that were possessed illegally, officials said.

“This is the second arrest for methamphetamine distribution in this are over the past few months,” said Sheriff Kent Winstead. “We have seen a rise in meth use and sale in our county recently. Our Special Operations Group is identifying and addressing those who choose to distribute and use these and all illegal drugs in our county on every level.

“I encourage our citizens to continue to notify our office if you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood.”

Collier, of Andrew Denton Road, Louisburg, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, two counts of selling and delivering a controlled substance, two counts of maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of selling controlled substances, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Collier was held  in the Franklin County Detention Center under a $50,000 unsecured bond.
