ROLESVILLE — A former Thales Academy teacher was charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student, the Wake County Sheriff's Office said

Paula Louise Stinson, 30, was charged with 12 counts of taking indecent liberties with children.

Stinson lives on Mockingbird Lane in Wake Forest.

Earlier this month, the Rolesville Police Department forwarded a case involving a former Thales Academy teacher and a student at the Rolesville campus to the sheriff's office, authorities said.

The 14-year-old boy's parents found several text messages between him and Stinson, which they gave to the police, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators said they also discovered Stinson had inappropriate interactions with the boy, both at school and at his home over a two-week period. 

Stinson was arrested Friday and placed in the Wake County Detention Center. Her bond was unavailable.
