As North Carolina continues to be a clean energy leader in the Southeast, it should be mentioned the significant role that conservative policy makers like Sen. Thom Tillis have played in growing the industry in North Carolina.  
Sen. Tillis’s support for offshore wind is just one such example. As global circumstances continue to change, we truly need “all of the above” energy solutions. The more energy we can produce here in America, the better.
Support for wind and solar projects will create jobs, secure a more resilient grid, reduce emissions and foster a healthier environment both in Wake County and across the entire state. It will also go a long way in keeping NC energy prices down, making our communities great places to raise a family and do business. By expanding our ability to leverage clean energy solutions, we will see increased economic investment as businesses of all sizes search for regions which can fulfill their pledges to independently reduce emissions.
When I served in the North Carolina House, clean energy was an issue on which both parties could come together and find common ground. It was inspiring to see how renewables fostered bipartisan solutions to grow our economy and provide for our constituents. North Carolinians do not see view clean energy as a partisan issue.  I encourage our conservative leaders to continue to lead us toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape for all Americans.
