<p class="p1"><span class="s1">On Feb. 10, a mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic at North Johnston High School had 2,000 doses available.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">A week later, a clinic at Corinth Holders High School had just 356.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">For that, Johnstonians seeking the vaccine can blame the winter storms that have crippled shipping across much of the country, said Lu Hickey, a county spokeswoman.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">&ldquo;We typically receive our first shipments on Tuesday, and we did not receive one this week and are uncertain about a shipment for next week,&rdquo; she said on Friday.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Not surprisingly, with fewer than 400 doses available, the clinic at Corinth Holders on Feb. 17 reached capacity quickly. Just before 10:30 a.m., the county sent out a notice that all available doses had been spoken for.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">On the plus side, a change in logistics helped the clinic avoid the traffic congestion that occurred during an earlier clinic at Corinth Holders, where traffic backed up on Applewhite Road in front of the school.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">&ldquo;The layout was slightly different in that we used the bus parking lot for the vaccinations,&rdquo; Hickey said.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">So far, almost 21,000 Johnstonians have received the vaccine through both clinics and appointments.</span></p>

<p><span>A warming south to southwest breeze in the Wilson Times area should help power high temperatures to near 70 degrees Saturday afternoon, and into the mid-70s on Sunday.</span></p>
<p><span>While there is a good chance of at least seeing the sun, Saturday is forecast to have abundant cloud cover but less than a 20% chance of a shower after sunrise.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Johnston County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office will charge a Winston-Salem man in the death of his aunt, a Johnston resident.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Around 9 a.m. Friday, Johnston deputies were dispatched to the home at 1277 Woodard&rsquo;s Dairy Road, Middlesex. There they found the body of Shana Lynn Williams, 51, who had died of an apparent gunshot wound.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">As a result of its investigation, the Sheriff&rsquo;s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Dylan Joseph Odett, 29, of 3510 Trafalgar Square, Winston-Salem.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Raleigh police later arrested Odett on the Johnston County warrant.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The invesigation is ongoing, the Sheriff&rsquo;s Office said in an email Friday afternoon.</span></p>
