Peyton Overbee of Smithfield has graduated from the N.C. Community College System’s 2021-22 Advising Leadership Academy.

Overbee is the director of the College Transfer Advising Center at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, a position she has held since September 2021. Before that, she served briefly as the center’s interim director and was an achievement coach for a little more than two years.

Overbee was one of 20 members of this year’s academy class, which received 109 applications from across the state’s 58 community colleges.

Overbee earned an associate’s degree from Johnston Community College and a bachelor’s degree in family and community services from East Carolina University.
