ROCKY MOUNT — Word Tabernacle Church will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 10.
The church has parentered with the N.C. Department of Human and Health Services, Nash UNC Health Systems, United Healthcare, Pfizer, Interfaith Food Center and the Eastern North Carolina Ministerial Alliance to offer 500 doses of the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine to individuals in Groups 1-4.
The Saturday clinic will offer appointments and first-come, first-serve drive-thru vaccinations. An additional UNC Nash team will be providing vaccines to homebound residents from Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax, Northampton and Wilson counties. Homebound residents are defined as people who need the help of another person or medical equipment such as crutches, a walker or a wheelchair to leave their home.
“Pastor (James) Gailliard has been working relentlessly on this project to bring a community COVID vaccine event,” said Christy Arnold, the church’s director of health and wellness. “We are excited about other organizations’ joint efforts to help fight against COVID-19 and save lives in our community.”
Anyone interested in the Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine can schedule an appointment by going to https://form.jotform.com/210815375755157 or visiting the church’s website, www.wordtab.net.
Phone appointments are also welcomed by calling 252-442-2925. For questions and concerns, email WTCmyshot@gmail.com.
