No, the calendar does not say we are in mid-January.

It only feels like it.

Wind chills in the low- to mid-20s will greet the Wilson Times area Friday morning, with much of the day spent shivering with wind chills in the 30s. Only a few hours, toward the end of the afternoon, will they get into the low 40s.

From a morning low around 30, high temperatures will gradually move to the 48- to 50-degree range. Northwest winds will be blustery from midmorning to early afternoon. Gusts could get into the 20 mph range before finally calming in the late afternoon.

Temperatures throughout our area will probably be in the upper 20s at sunrise Saturday.

A warmup begins Saturday afternoon and continues into Wednesday thanks to lots of sun and little chance of precipitation.

Highs are forecast to go from the upper 50s on Saturday to near 70 Sunday and into the low 70s Monday. Saturday night’s low should hold in the mid-30s.
