The Wilson Times area will likely begin the process of returning to typical summertime conditions Tuesday.

The full force of summer should then arrive by Thursday.

After Monday’s soaking, rain chances Tuesday are at 40% with skies mostly cloudy. Afternoon high temperatures are expected to only reach the low 80s.

Chances of rain drop to 20% Wednesday through Friday.

Peak afternoon temperatures are forecast to get into the mid 80s Wednesday and then the 88- to 90-degree range through the weekend. The heat index may well hit between 96 and 98 on Thursday and Friday.
