“When officers arrived, they located an 11-year-old male who sustained a superficial head injury from the incident,” Jackson said in a news release.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Westwood Drive and York Street. Nash County EMS personnel took the boy to Nash UNC Health Care for further treatment, Jackson said.
