Ladybirds soccer team advances to conference title game

STANHOPE — With a balanced attack that saw four different players score goals, the Southern Nash High girls soccer team punched its ticket to the 2-A/3-A Big East Conference Championship game with a 4-0 win over Nash Central Thursday.
Amber Patterson led the Ladybirds (18-0-1) with a goal and two assists against the Bulldogs (11-6-1). Layla Austin notched a goal and an assist, Kalyn Yones and Emory Gibson both scored and Charlotte Benson added an assist.
The Ladybirds will face Roanoke Rapids in the Big East Championship game next Wednesday.
