STANHOPE — Despite another complete game in the circle from Anna Dickinson, a lack of offense doomed the Southern Nash High softball team to a 3-0 loss to Person High in the second round of the NCHSAA 3-A playoffs Thursday.

Dickinson struck out nine for the fifth-seeded, 3-A Ladybirds (20-3) of the 2-A/3-A Big East Conference, finishing the season with 219 strikeouts. The 12-seed Rockets (18-4) of the Central Conference took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added two insurance runs in the sixth.

Savanna Baines, Kaylie Love and Dickinson each picked up hits for Southern Nash.
