Election battle is part of spiritual war

Posted on November 18, 2020

On Nov. 7, I heard these words in response to my question concerning the election: “What now, Holy Spirit?”

Immediately I heard “comfort ye — comfort ye My people, saith the Lord of Host” (Isaiah 40:1).

My next question was: “How?”

The answer was swift and clear “Encourage My people to keep praying.”

Church, this is not about a party, a person, a personality or even our national pride. This is a spiritual war. So, what are we, the church, called to do? Are we going to head to the streets like the anarchists have been doing? No, our war is not with flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). We war on our knees, in our war rooms and prayer closets. We join with other saints, not to complain, but to humble ourselves with prayer and fasting (2 Chronicles 7:14), all the while “standing firm” (Ephesians 6:13).

Church, this election battle isn’t over. At this very moment, a host of warring angels are engaged in a fierce battle with principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age to expose, defeat and destroy Satan’s evil plans for our nation and Israel.

Don’t become angry, frustrated, defeated or discouraged or lose hope. Comfort each other with God’s word, stand firm in your faith, turn off all media and bind the evil forces at work by declaring your authority in Jesus’name.

Then, with a “peace that passes understanding,” (Philippians 4:7) “rejoice in the Lord” (Philippians 4:4). Remember, Satan thought he had defeated Jesus on the cross. Jesus’ own disciples thought all was lost.

Consider this one last quote by the dictator Joseph Stalin concerning the USSR communist parties’ election in 1923: “It’s not the people who vote that count, it’s the people who count the votes.” Selah!
