SPRING HOPE — The Peachtree Hills Golf Club is set to host its second annual disc golf tournament Dec. 12.

The Open at Peachtree is a sanctioned event with more than 50 participants signed up to play, said Zach Marks, a member of the club’s board of directors.

“We will actually have a two-time world champion disc golfer playing this tournament,” Marks said. “We will have both pro and amateur players who have won sanctioned tournaments around the country.”

Marks said the tournament was successful in its first year and is shaping up to be a big event this year. Golfers from as far away as Pennsylvania are signed up to play.

Disc golf is played with rules similar to golf, but instead of a club and ball, players toss a Frisbee-like disc at targets spread across a playing field.
