Clark, Ladybirds continue hoops season next week

Lilly Clark plays basketball for the Ladybirds at Southern Nash High School and is The Enterprise’s Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Student-Athlete of the Week.

Clark plays center on the girls basketball team. She also plays tennis and runs track and field for Southern Nash.

On the basketball court, the Ladybirds picked up their first win of the season on Friday with a 63-44 defeat of Louisburg at home. Southern Nash raced to a 26-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The team improved its record to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the 2-A/3-A Big East Conference.

The Ladybirds return to action next week when they face Hunt in the first round of the Farris & Thomas Law Attorneys Holiday Tournament in Wilson.

A 17-year-old senior, Clark said she plans to enter nursing after high school and college.
