BATTLEBORO — Authorities are investigating a driveway shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

At around 4 p.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a home at to 5362 N.C. 48 in reference to two victims being shot, said Maj. Eddie Moore with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office.

Arriving deputies found that a neighbor had taken two shooting victims to the hospital in a private car, Moore said.

“Based on the investigation, it appears the two victims were sitting in a vehicle in the driveway to the residence, when unknown suspect(s) approached from the rear of the vehicle and began firing into the vehicle,” Moore said. “Both victims sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.”

Both victims were treated at Nash UNC Health Care and released later the same night.

“Investigators have interviewed both victims and other witnesses to the case, and processed the crime scene for evidence,” Moore said. “At this time, there are no suspects named.”

The home at 5362 N.C. 48 has a Battleboro address, but is located in the Drake community just south of Gold Rock.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Detective Carlisle at 252-459-4121.
