Yes, I will take the liberty to speak for many when I say, “we beg to differ” as I am speaking for all the SGWASA customers, including myself, that have been dealt a double rate hike, resulting in water bills that exceed electric bills.  
Hikes that came right after the millions earmarked for the recent repairs and upgrades was spent. On paper, it may appear that the work was done with no rate hikes, but that means nothing to the customers now having to pay a hefty rate hike. SGWASA’s ED recently made a statement that all the recently completed repairs and upgrades were done with no rate hikes to customers.
SGWASA is one of the most disliked organizations in the county, and much of it is attributed to its poor customer service, tone deaf board, and like the “done with no rate hike” statement, constantly providing poor or dishonest information.  
Customers can see, smell and experience the effects of poor water quality, and they can certainly understand their bills jumping from $80 (already too high) to $180 (which is ridiculous). 
So telling them “everything is fine and rosy” only deepens the rift between SGWASA and its customers. Of course, I’ve always viewed SGWASA as a Humpty Dumpty of sorts. 
They have long lost trust and confidence with their customers. So all the king’s horses and all the king’s men cannot put SGWASA Dumpty back together again.
