OXFORD — Applications for the Leadership Granville program are now being accepted for the 2022-23 class.
Leadership Granville is an educational program designed to offer leadership training and a broader knowledge of the county to its citizens. Through this program, participants have the opportunity to become personally and professionally engaged with the county in which they live and work, while developing leadership skills and networking opportunities.
Sessions are scheduled to begin in mid-September and include leadership assessment and development; personal and group dynamics; city, county and state government; education; agriculture; industry and small business; health services; community support; recreation and tourism; the judicial system and law enforcement; and county history.
Visits to local manufacturers, farms, small businesses, museums, schools, medical facilities, volunteer organizations, recreational facilities and other day trips are planned, as well as local government meetings. To conclude the program, a graduation ceremony will be held in April of 2023.
The tuition fee, which includes all class materials and activity-related expenses, is $400 for the entire program. A limited number of scholarships are available to those who meet eligibility requirements.
Applications are being accepted until July 1 and available through the Granville County Chamber of Commerce Office, 124 Hillsboro Street in Oxford, or online at https://granville-chamber.com/member-services/leadership-granville.
Those interested in assuming leadership positions within their organization and/or community are strongly encouraged to apply. Enrollment is limited.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available, with packages that range from $300 to $2,000. Interested businesses and organizations are asked to contact Lauren Roberson of the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, at 919-693-6125 or lauren@granville-chamber.com for more information.
Leadership Granville is presented by the Granville County Chamber of Commerce, Granville County Public Schools and Vance-Granville Community College.
