CREEDMOOR — It was raining inside the Falls Lake gym on Tuesday during the basketball jamboree — raining 3-pointers, that is.
The four-team jamboree featured River Mill Academy, Oxford Prep, Oak Forest and Falls Lake Academy. 
The teams rotated and had an opportunity to play their best games with no score being kept and a running clock. 
Each team had a 3-point specialist, who could light it up from every angle on the court.
During the last game of the day, the Falls Lake Firebirds squared off against the Oxford Prep Griffins.
Austin May wore his sharpshooter skills on his sleeve as he drilled long-range shot after shot. 
Perry Trice and Logan Crabtree handled the paint for the Firebirds.
Newcomers Colton Femister and Caleb Hawkins showed their rebounding skills and short-range jumpers.
Jason May, head coach for Falls Lake varsity basketball, was excited by what he saw during the jamboree.
“We are missing several of our core players, but these young men are playing extremely well,” he said. “We are passing the ball better, crashing the boards better, hitting shots, but most of all playing defense better. We may surprise some people this year. We are going to be a much better team, all the way around, this season.”
May said the jamboree is a great way for players to bond with each other, help each other and just have some fun doing what they like, which is playing basketball.
