Emily Bragg Whitfield

Oxford — Emily Beatrice Bragg Whitfield, 86, a resident of Granville County passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Brantwood Nursing Home in Oxford.

A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Brown Bragg and Josie Newton Bragg. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Creedmoor and worked for Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company for thirty years.

A private funeral service will be held at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.

Surviving is her husband of sixty-six years, William "Billy" Lyon Whitfield of the home; a daughter Debra Talley (Buckey) of Wilton; a grandson, Jason Talley of Wilton, two granddaughters, Tina Tyler and Amanda Sanders of Creedmoor; eight great grandchildren and brother-in-law, Wayne Whitfield (Johnnie).

She was preceded in death by her children, Donnie Whitfield, Tammy Whitfield and a brother- in- law, Zack Whitfield.
