OXFORD — The Granville County Chamber of Commerce will be led by Vanessa Jones while it searches for a new permanent director.

Jones was appointed as interim director last month by the chamber’s board of directors, board president Cecilia Wheeler said.

Past executive director Ginnie Currin retired at the end of 2020 after 24 years at the helm.

Jones has served as the workforce development coordinator for the Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce and as interim director during that chamber’s last executive director’s search. She is also a retiree from Vance-Granville Community College where she served as vice president of Community and Economic Development.

“We are thrilled to have Vanessa to serve in this capacity while we conduct the search for the Executive Director,” said Wheeler in a statement. “Her experience and knowledge will be a tremendous asset as we look for the best candidate to lead the Granville County Chamber of Commerce.

Jones can be reached at vjones@granville-chamber.com or by calling the Chamber office at 919-693-6125.
