The following is a list of incidents from March 18-24 responded to by Butner Public Safety officers. All information is from public law enforcement records.
March 18
• Larceny was reported on Highway 56. The perpetrator stole 30 cases of water. As a result of the incident PSO M. B. Butler served a criminal summons on Samuel Bernard Harris, 50, of Creedmoor, charging him with larceny. Harris was issued a court date and ordered to appear in court.
March 19
• PSO C. B. Slate arrested Kwamaine Lamont Perry, 26, of Butner, and charged him with felony possession of marijuana. Perry was issued a secured bond of $7,000 by Magistrate C. F. Knott and was released after posting bond.
• Property damage was reported on East Lyon Station Road. The perpetrator(s) threw an object out the window, causing damage to the victim’s vehicle.
March 20
• An assault was reported on Central Ave. As a result of the incident, PSO M. B. Butler arrested Ashlyn Nicole Lankford, 19, of Durham, and charged her with assault. Lankford was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate C. F. Knott and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
• An assault, communicating threats and property damage were reported on East B Street. The victim was assaulted and threatened by her ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend also poured lighter fluid on the building. As a result of the incident PSO A. R. Spitzer obtained a warrant on Joshua Malcolm Harris, 29, of Durham, charging him with attempted second-degree arson, assault on a female, and communicating threats.
• PSO C. B. Slate arrested Derrick Jovan Reid, 36, of Butner, for an outstanding order for arrest. Reid was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate C. F. Knott and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
March 21
• Larceny was reported on Highway 56. The suspect stole a bottle of wine from the business. As a result of the incident, PSO D. Toral obtained a criminal summons on Christopher Pendleton, 43, of Durham, charging him with larceny. Pendleton was issued a court date and ordered to appear in court.
• PSO C. B. Slate arrested Sandra Caudill Mulchi, 63, of Butner, for an outstanding order for arrest. Mulchi was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
March 22
• A hit and run was reported on West Lyon Station Road. The victim’s vehicle was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, which left the scene.
• PSO D. Toral arrested Christopher Pendleton for an outstanding order for arrest. Mr. Pendleton was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate C. P. Bostic and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
• PSO M. B. Butler served a criminal summons on Marisol Mendivil Perez, 18, of Creedmoor, for driving after consuming under 21. Mr. Perez was issued a court date and ordered to appear in court.
March 23
• PSO A. R. Spitzer arrested Malika Jazmaraye Sheen, 22, of Creedmoor, and charged her with DWI. Sheen was released to her mother by Magistrate C. F. Knott.
• Sgt. N. Williams arrested Suellen Glascock Horton, 56, of Creedmoor, and charged her with possession of heroin and possession of methamphetamine. Ms. Horton was issued a secured bond of $14,000 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
• PSO A. R. Spitzer arrested Gabriela Jeronimo-Guerrero, 29, of Butner, and charged her with DWI and possession of an open container. Guerrero was issued a secured bond of $2,500 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
March 24
• PSO M. B. Butler arrested Shanese Danielle Yancey, 24, of Oxford, for an outstanding order for arrest. Yancey was issued an unsecured bond of $500 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and was released.
• An assault by pointing a gun was reported on Gate #1 Road. The perpetrator pointed a firearm at the victim during an argument.
Special events and notices
On the second Thursday of every month, Butner Public Safety will host its monthly Community Watch meetings at Butner Town Hall. Butner Public Safety urges the public to attend these meetings to learn vital information pertaining to the safety of their neighborhoods.
During each of these meeting’s information such as recent arrests, crimes, and safety concerns are addressed to the public. Butner Public Safety also accepts any and all information or concerns from the public so that they can be resolved or addressed.
