The following is a list of incidents and arrests from April 1-6 by Butner Public Safety officers. All information is from public law enforcement records.
April 1
• A breaking and entering, larceny and property damage was reported on Village Court. The perpetrator(s) cut a fence, entered the property and stole catalytic converters.
April 2
• A larceny was reported on East Lyon Station Road. The perpetrators stole assorted groceries from the business.
• PSO D. Toral arrested Donald Jerome Hunt, 51, of Butner, and charged him with DWI. Hunt was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
April 3
• PSO B. T. Lomena arrested Johan Archaga, 22, or Danville, VA, and charged him with DWI, possession of an open container in a vehicle, and no operator’s license. Archaga was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
PSO Lomena also arrested Edward Zambrano, 21, of Danville, VA, and charged him with aid and abet impaired driving. Zambrano was issued a secured bond of $1,000 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
• PSO C. D. Coeburn served a criminal summons on Thomas Anthony Branch, 61, of Henderson, for failure to return rental property. Branch was issued a court dated and ordered to appear in court.
April 4
• Sgt. N. Williams arrested Orlando Dale Latta Jr., 42, of Butner, and charged him with two counts of trafficking opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle for storage of narcotics, two counts of possession of firearm by a felon, possession of marijuana and speeding. Latta was issued a secured bond of $300,000 by Magistrate R. R. Roberts Jr. and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
Sgt. Williams also arrested Taylor Rose Phipps, 28, of Oxford, and charged her with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Phipps was issued a secured bond of $1,500 by Magistrate Roberts and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
During the same incident, PSO D. Toral arrested Alyssa Nicole Jacobs, 24, of Durham, and charged her with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jacobs was issued a secured bond of $1,500 by Magistrate Roberts and placed in the Granville County Detention Center.
• A larceny was reported on Highway 56. The perpetrators stole miscellaneous cleaning supplies from the business.
April 5
• PSO C. B. Slate arrested Ronnie Dale Parrish Jr., 38, of Creedmoor, and charged him with possession of methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon. Parrish was issued a secured bond of $7,500 by Magistrate R. W. Pearce and placed in the Granville County Detention Center. Parrish also had outstanding warrants for felony larceny, assault, and property damage. Parrish was issued a secured bond of $21,000 by Magistrate Pearce for the outstanding warrants.
April 6
• A breaking and entering, and larceny, damage was reported on Hilltop Drive. The perpetrator(s) entered by forcing open a back door and stole two TVs, assorted tools, civil war chess set, and two heaters.
Special events/notices
On the second Thursday of every month Butner Public Safety hosts its monthly Community Watch meetings at Butner Town Hall. Butner Public Safety urges the public to attend these meetings to learn vital information pertaining to the safety of their neighborhoods.
During each of these meetings, information such as recent arrests, crimes and safety concerns are addressed to the public. Butner Public Safety also accepts any and all information or concerns from the public so that they can be resolved or addressed.
