Students and staff at Butner Stem Elementary School partnered with the Community United Methodist Church for its Day of Caring event. 
The school collected food for the Butner Church food pantry.

Sue Hinman, center, a Granville County Commissioner, was surprised Dec. 3 with the Outstanding County Elected Official award from the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments at its annual awards ceremony. She was presented the award by fellow Commissioner Zelodis Jay, right, who is also vice chair of the Kerr-Tar Regional Council of Governments Board of Directors. Also pictured is Commissioner David Smith. Leo Kelly, chairman of the Kerr-Tar Board of Directors, presided over the meeting, which was held virtually via Zoom.
