Satterly-Cockrell


Katie Baldwin Cockrell and Stephen Michael Satterly, both of Omaha, Neb., exchanged marriage vows Sept. 29 in a 2 p.m. ceremony at St. Egbert’s Catholic Church in Morehead City. The Rev. Thomas Davis officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. John Robert Cockrell Jr. of Concord and the late John Robert Cockrell Jr. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Fred L. Howell Jr. and the late Fred L. Howell, Jr. of Concord and the late John Robert and Betsy Cockrell of Kilmarnock, Va. The bride graduated from Greensboro Day School and Wake Forest University. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling fr
om the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is employed as an elementary school counselor.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Alan Satterly of Wilson. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Revoir of Syracuse, N.Y., and the late Pauline Satterly of Wilson and Robert A. Satterly. He graduated from James B. Hunt High School and East Carolina University. He is currently an account manager for Cisco Systems in Omaha.

Escorted by her brother, Scott Howell Cockrell, the bride wore a Monique Lhuillier embellished, re-embroidered lace gown.

For her headpiece, she chose a chapel-length veil.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of hydrangeas and sweetheart roses. She also carried a handkerchief made by her maternal grandmother featuring lace crafted by her great-grandmother

Matron of honor was Dr. Laura Cockrell Skelton, sister of the bride, of Greensboro.

Bridesmaids were Karen Satterly Bensch of Stockton, Calif., and Laura Beth Satterly of New York City, sisters of the groom; Sarah Foster Crist of Charlotte; Mary Catherine Grant of Minneapolis, Minn.; Christine Elaine Meulemans of Alexandria, Va.; and Elizabeth Leigh Minto of Washington, D.C.

Flower girls were Virginia Howell Bensch and Catherine Claire Bensch, nieces of the groom.

The best man was Dr. Robert Alan Satterly, father of the groom.

Groomsmen were Dr. Gregory William Bensch of Stockton, brother-in-law of the groom; Kelvin Ray Boyette of Jamestown; Brett Christopher Dahlof of Minneapolis; Michael Corbett Davis of Wilson; John Tyler Griffin of Atlanta; and Philip John Velardi of Omaha.

Ring bearer was William Robert Bensch, nephew of the bridegroom.

Lectors were Amanda Gunn Church of Matthews and Kevin Joseph Nolte of Durham.

Program attendants were Catherin
e Powell Regan of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Marilyn Carlson Rush of Wilmington.

Following the wedding, the bride’s mother hosted a reception at the Coral Bay Club in Atlantic Beach.

On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was held at the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores hosted by the groom’s parents. After dinner, friends of the groom’s parents entertained at an after-rehearsal party and dance at the aquarium.
