Lucy Mae Skaggs left this world for her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 4 at age 81.
Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Woodrow Skaggs of the home; sister, Dessie Sue Carroll of Parsons, WV; and beloved furry pet, Sheena.
Lucy was preceded in death by her son, Charles, "Chuck" Woodrow Skaggs, Jr.; parents, James Willard and Catherine Maxwell Snider; and brother, James Willard Snider, Jr.
Lucy retired from 43 years of service to the Federal Government as an administrative assistant for FEMA and the Dept of Housing in Washington, DC. She lived a long fulfilling life caring for her family and the many pets and wildlife she loved to nurture. She was a long-time attendee of the Kenly Church of God, and her humble sweet spirit will be missed by many.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10 am on Tuesday, July 18 at the Kenly Cemetery. Reverend Brian Wible will officiate.
