Wake Forest commissioners to hold public hearing on self-storage facility

WAKE FOREST — The Wake Forest Board of Commissioners meet 6 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 19 in Town Hall for a public hearing on rezoning 2.64 acres to create a self-storage facility — Wake Forest Self Storage. 

The board will consider making appointments to the Planning Board. 

Commissioners will consider a resolution to file an application to approve a financing agreement for street resurfacing. The town would borrow $6.5 million to fund this project.

The board will also vote on a resolution to support development of the S-Line Rail Corridor and to provide local funding to match a federal grant opportunity for mobility hub design and project development activities.  

The mayor will also make a number of proclamations, including marking October as P.A.N.D.A.S. Awareness Month. Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections, or P.A.N.D.A.S., is a disease resulting from childhood strep infections. Wake Forest Resident Jay Jay Wilson, a 2023 Good Neighbor of the Year, lives with the disease.
