WAKE FOREST — The Daughters of the American Revolution Gen. James Moore Chapter met at the Villages of Wake Forest in May and enjoyed a potluck luncheon, in addition to the monthly meeting, a news release says.
Regent Debby Butler began by presenting a Community Service Award to Paige Bivens of the Wake Forest Garden Club in appreciation of the club’s work maintaining the Wake Forest Museum grounds and other local areas.
“With a commitment to community service that began in 1924, Garden Club members work hard to enhance the beauty and enjoyment of Wake Forest,” the release says. For more information, visit wfgardenclub.org.
The meeting included the installation of officers for the 2023-25 term.
Mary Aker, N.C. DAR state librarian, presided over the swearing-in of upcoming regent Barbara Bowers; vice regent Michele Eichelberg; chaplain Michelle Entrop; recording secretary Melinda Alvarez; corresponding secretary Nell Sligh; registrar Sheri Liles; historian Cathy Moore; and librarian Cheryl Gourley. Outgoing Regent Debby Butler was recognized for her outstanding leadership over the past four years.
