WAKE FOREST — Cape Fear Seafood Co. opened a new location in Wake Forest for a May 29 grand opening, after the restaurant spent time fundraising for charities.
The restaurant held charity events before the opening to raise money for The Joel Fund, First Tee and the Trawick Pediatric Cardiology Research Fund.
The Trawick Pediatric Cardiology Research Fund was established in 2018 by founders Evans and Nikki Trawick to help pediatric cardiology research at Duke Children’s Hospital. Their daughter Ande was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a congenital heart defect, the company’s website says.
The restaurant raised a total of $11,250 for the charities, with $3,750 going to each organization.
Cape Fear Seafood Co. first opened in 2008 and specializes in serving seafood, steaks and chicken.
The new Wake Forest restaurant, on Rogers Branch Road, is the company’s sixth location. It also has two restaurants in Raleigh.
