Johnny Rogers Smith, 83, of Creedmoor passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Hock Family Pavilion.
Born in Granville County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Smith and Sarah Katherine Rogers. Johnny was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and worked for more than thirty years in the 730th Maintenance Division of the Unites States National Guard. He retired early from the National Guard and worked for Creedmoor Fuel for over ten years. In his later years, he worked part-time delivering flowers for Gil-Man's Floral and Design in Creedmoor.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church officiated by Reverend David Herman. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Smith of Creedmoor; a son, Jeffrey Smith of Timberlake; a brother, Warren Smith; two sisters, Betty Holloman and his twin, Judy Haskins; special family friend, Jerry Wood and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Sandra Carden Smith and a sister, Linda S. Miller.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Pallbearers for the service will be Scott Freeman, Christopher Jeffrey, Paul Holloman, Robbie Smith, Nathan Garrard and Lewis Hunt.
