Concert to benefit Ukrainian children

WAKE FOREST — Music Academy South students and faculty will perform two musical concerts to raise money for Ukrainian children. The money will be used to buy computer tablets to allow the children to continue their studies as refugees.
This year’s Spring Solo and Ensemble Festival will be held Saturday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Wake Forest Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 107 South Ave.
Every spring, students of Music Academy South learn how to partner with other students to make music together in an Ensemble Festival.  A dual purpose developed this year as the academy partnered with My Distinctive Design florist, Lyubov Manyak, and leaders from the Christian Schools of Ukraine.
The concert is free and open to the public but donations are welcome.
Donations can also be given remotely via Venmo or Zelle. More information can be found on the Music Academy South website or by calling Jeanine Skinner, Music Academy South owner and director, at 919-556-6151.
