Nashville — For the third weekend in a row, Nash County should see some snowfall late Friday.

A winter weather advisory for Nash and surrounding counties has been issued by the National Weather Service in Raleigh. The advisory is in effect from midnight until 11 a.m. Saturday.

A total snow accumulation of up to one inch is expected in the state’s central and southern coastal plain.

The precipitation may begin as a brief period of rain, before quickly changing to snow.

Winds will gust as high as 35 mph overnight and Saturday morning.

Slow down and use caution while traveling, said Brent Fisher, assistant director of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management for Nash County Emergency Services.
