SHARPSBURG — Town officials have scheduled a power outage from 1-8 a.m. this Saturday to perform maintenance work on Sharpsburg’s electric substation.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for seven hours without electricity, though the outage may not last for the full length of time scheduled, according to a notice on the town of Sharpsburg website.
Town electric customers with questions can call 252-446-9441 during weekday business hours and 252-567-4915 after hours.
BUDGET WORKSHOPS SET
Sharpsburg commissioners will hold 2023-24 budget workshops on April 13 and May 26 in the meeting room at Town Hall, 110 W. Railroad St.
Both meetings are scheduled for 10 a.m. and will include discussion on the town of Sharpsburg’s budget for the next fiscal year, according to a notice posted to the town’s website on Wednesday.
The 2023-24 budget is scheduled to be presented during a special called meeting at 4 p.m. on May 18. A draft budget will be available for public inspection at Town Hall for 10 days prior to a public hearing set for 6 p.m. June 6. All workshops and meetings are open to the public.
