NASHVILLE — Nash County Public Schools is making two big transportation related changes this upcoming school year.

All parents who need bus transportation for their children, must opt-in with an online form found at www.ncpschools.net. Parents who do not have access to an electronic device can call their school for assistance with submitting the form. The transportation request must be completed as soon as possible.

Parents will be able to verify their child’s bus route via the district website a couple of weeks prior to the start of school.

Also new this year, schools will operate with staggered start and departure times with the following schedule.

Start times:

• High schools at 7:30 a.m.

• Elementary schools at 8 a.m.

• Middle school at 8:30 a.m.

Departure times:

• High schools at 2:30 p.m.

• Elementary schools at 3 p.m.

• Middle schools at 3:30 p.m.

The district is looking into before care options to help parents and expects to have additional information on that before school starts.
