ROCKY MOUNT — The Benjamin Michael Langley Memorial Nursing Scholarship has been established by the Langley family and friends, the Nash Community College Foundation announced.

The scholarship was created to assist students in the practical nursing program and PN students transitioning into the associate degree in nursing program.

“Ben was much beloved as he had a servant’s heart,” said Benjamin Langley’s mother, Jamie Langley. “His legacy of service to others lives on due to his commitment as an organ donor.”

Two annual scholarships will be presented to students enrolled in the practical nursing program or those transitioning from the PN to associate degree in nursing program.

“Students that are eligible for this scholarship have to fall into the defined criteria, but deeper than that, these students must have a servant’s heart and mirror the commitment that Benjamin made himself,” said Pam Ballew, vice president of advancement at NCC.
