Butner man charged with multiple felonies

BUTNER — Kedric Jamon Hester of Butner was charged Jan. 27 with multiple offenses, Butner police say. 

Charges include breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle, communicating theats and false imprisonment.



On Jan. 26, Hester was a suspect in two breaking and enterings of homes, a felonious assault and theft of a motor vehicle. Warrants were obtained for two counts of felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny of a vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, false imprisonment and communicating threats. 

The vehicle Hester allegedly took from Butner was found in Franklin County. While in there, Hester allegedly took another vehicle and a cell phone. Law officials found him in Franklin County operating the reported stolen vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Hester crashed the car and ran. 

Members of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Franklinton Police Department apprehended Hester, who was taken to the Granville County Law Enforcement Center and placed in the Granville County Detention Center. Total bail is $185,000.00
