In seeking to start their North Carolina American Legion Area I West Division first-round playoff series, the Wilson Post 13 and Louisburg Post 105 baseball teams have faced a common foe: Mother nature.
After Thursday night’s series opener at Beddingfield High was rained out, the teams were set to start the series Friday night at Hunt High, until that was also wiped out due to rain.
There was a brief plan for the teams to play a doubleheader at Fleming Stadium Friday, but that is also off due to severe weather in the forecast.
Due to all of the schedule changes, Wilson and Louisburg’s series has now gone from a best of three to a one-game, winner-take-all affair Sunday at Fleming Stadium, with the time yet to be announced.
The winner of that game will move on to face Fuquay-Varina in the Area I West Division championship series.
